Adore, Love... Paris

Adore, Love... Paris

Well, my goals for this week were too lofty for what I actually could get done. I only worked half days this week, since school was out for February recess. But ended up busier than I thought I would be with the kids and errands.

I did happen to get a layout done though and it's featuring one of my new puppies.

Her  name is Paris.
She is very shy and very loving.

To make this layout, I used the My Mind's Eye Be Mine Collection.
I also used some of the die cut cardstock tags that come with this collection.

On the second layer, the pink heart patterned paper, I cut it to 10.25 inches square then used a Martha Stewart punch around the page punch. Then I inked the edges with brown ink.

The teal heart paper I cut to 8.5 inches by 6.5 inches, then used another Martha Stewart punch around the page punch. I inked the edges with brown ink.

I cut the pink striped paper to 8.5 inches by 6.5 inches and used the Zutter distressing tool on the edges then inked them with brown ink.

The grid patterned paper I cut to 5.25 inches by 7 inches and used the Zutter distressing tool on the edges. Inking the edges with brown ink.

I cut some small hearts out of scrap paper and inked the edges too.

I found some old doggy buttons, in my collection, that I used on this too. One little paw and two little bones. I think that they are quite cute.

I hope you enjoy this layout.
Please leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Have a wonderful day.

Sweatheart

Sweetheart

Wow... Time goes by so fast around here. I have plans and more plans of spending time scrapbooking and blogging, but life as it is, gets in the way of "my plans".

This weekend, even though it was a three day weekend for me, and I am only working half days this week, because school is on recess here, was busy. Saturday morning, I slept in, and it was much needed, I got up at 9am! That is sleeping in for me. Then I cleaned, did laundry and went shopping. By the time I was done with that, my husband was home from work. I did play with papers a little on Saturday while my husband and son worked on my son's truck (he broke a ball joint Thursday coming out of school). Then Saturday night it was off to my mom's for my little brother's 26th birthday. Sunday was kind of a blur, we hung around, cleaned and fixed some things, then watched two movies. And Monday, I went to my best friend's house to see the twins and my little friend Ethan (he's 4). Needless to say by the time I got home from her house, and after eating dinner, I didn't want to scrap at all. Besides we are addicted to that show The Following with Kevin Bacon.

Today is a new day though, it's Tuesday and I feel energized because I just completed a workout and I topped my score from before. Yay!

Also, I made this page to show you.

A couple weeks back, I shared with you, that our two pitbills, had puppies. Well, this is a layout featuring the little man of the group. His name is Gizmo, or Gizzy. And he is a ham. As you can see, he laid good for the picture, so I could get his best side. He is the cutest little man ever. My heart just melts when I look at him. I am not a huge fan of male dogs, they are just different then female dogs, if you have owned dogs in your life, you know what I am talking about. But just looking at him and watching the way he acts, I couldn't not love him.

I used Recollections "Everyday Moments" papers for this layout.

The base piece of paper is just simple grid paper that I stamped two flourishes on with dark brown ink. Then above the lower flourish, I stamped a cream design.

I cut 6 banners out of dark blue patterned paper then using a white gel pen, added stitching to them.

I used a doily behind the photo, and also a journaling card that I bought from Bo Bunny, it's the Timepiece Noteworthy collection. There was a dark brown border around the tan journaling card, so I cut it off, because it didn't go well with the layout.

I used my Slice machine, from Making Memories, to cut out the title, "Sweetheart".

Also in the the Recollections paper collection, is these mustard papers, and I wanted a contrasting color, so I used that to cut the decorative border, under the photo.

To finish off the layout, I found three small wood hearts and added those.

The great thing about this layout, is it can be made with two or three photos, and you don't have to change much at all.

I hope you enjoy this layout.
Thank you for visiting my blog.

Have a peaceful evening.
Much love.

February 2013 Recipe Challenge for The Paper Mixing Bowl

February 2013 Recipe Challenge - Red Velvet Cake

Here is the recipe to follow, and submit for the February's Recipe Challenge for The Paper Mixing Bowl.

If you would like to play along, and we hope you will, you can go to The Paper Mixing Bowl, by clicking here.

Here is my take on this delicious recipe:

Puppy "Love"
This layout is, or course, about the new additions to my family. Roo, Paris and Gizmo are just the cutest things I have seen since I had my children, so many years ago.
Their faces just melt my heart into mush.

For this layout, I used My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Collection. I used Recollections rhinestone swirls, Prima flowers and some jute.

I started with a cream light patterned paper for the background. The a damask brown piece of paper and a red piece of paper with cream polka dots.

The jute I formed into hearts, then I painted it with Mod Podge, so it would keep it's shape.

I used my Zutter distressing machine to distress the edges of the brown and red polka dot paper. Then I inked the papers with dark brown ink.

I also spilled tea on the cream colored patterned paper, but after drying, it was so light, you could barely tell.

I cut the title with a combination of two things. "Puppy was cut using the Making Memories Slice machine. The red primitive heart was cut using a Sizzix small hand held die, and a hammer.

I hope you enjoy my take on this months recipe.

I hope you like it enough to play along.

Will U B My Valentine?

Will U B My Valentine?

Valentine's Day is two days away, and I am ready. We don't buy into the hype of the holiday, and go out and buy expensive gifts but I do like to make a special something for my hubby.

I mean Christmas was less then two months ago. Couldn't they have spaced out the holidays a little more? I am all for showing affection and letting the person you are with know that you love them, but that should be done everyday.

I made this card using My Mind's Eye papers from the Lost & Found collection.
I had some scraps of paper from a layout I just completed for February's Recipe Challenge at the Paper Mixing Bowl. So I decided, why not use them.

I had a strip of 12 inch by 4 inch paper that was scrap also, so I folded 1.5 inches for the bottom piece and then the other fold was at 5.25 inches from the top.

I cut brown paper to 3.875 inches by 5 inches, and inked the edges with dark brown ink.
Then I cut the red polka dot paper to 3.5 inches by 4.875 inches, also inking the edges with dark brown ink.

I found more scraps of cream colored cardstock (not exactly the same color cream as the card but close) and I cut that to 3 inches by 4.375 inches, inkign the edges with dark brown ink. I stamped the sentiment "for my love", in dark brown ink also.

Using my Making Memories Slice machine and the Je'Adore card, I cut the cute cupid. I used cranberry Stickles on cupid to make him sprakle and look pretty.

Using an EK Success border punch, I punched that 1.5 inch flap with the lacey punch and inked the edges with dark brown ink. And I covered the tab with a piece of the brown paper I have left over. I cut it to 3.875 inches by 1.375 inches.

For the inside, I used my Making Memories Slice machine and cut the sentiment "Love Story" in cranberry cardstock, and the two people out of the brown left over paper.

I wrote in my own horrible handwriting, "you are my", above the words love story, to finish off the card.

I hope you enjoy the card I made.
I really love it.
It's very cute. But it looks much better in person.

Have a blessed day.

Sorry...

Hello,
Well, I have been absent from scrapbooking for a couple weeks. It's not that I haven't been making pages, I did make the page for February's Recipe Challenge for the Paper Mixing Bowl,
but honestly I haven't had alone of time.
(Which you will get to see

My pitbulls had their puppies on January 3rd.
And at home, I spend alot of time playing, and hugging those three little cuties.

This is a picture of one of the puppies, her name is Roo.
Can you see why I fell head over heels in love with her?
She is amazing.
She is so sweet.
I am her mamma. She cuddles with me at her bedtime, which is 10pm. We play for one full hour before bedtime, so that we wear all three out. We don't want them crying in the night time.
They do really well.
They sleep in a doggy playpen, that I picked up at the Christmas Tree Store for $15.
Let me tell you, that playpen has been a God sent. :)

Anyway, it's like having three newborn babies in my house.
Two little girls and one little boy with their own personalities.
Roo is very sweet and loving, but it also adventurous.
Paris, the other girl, is shy and reserved.
and,
Gizmo, or Gizzy as we call him, the little man, is all boy. He is funny and sneaky.

I hope to post what I am making soon.
V-day is coming next week!

Have a blessed day.
